After school, I decided not to go to college.

I wanted to learn things on my own, in my own way, and spend my time actually building things. I felt that going down the usual path wasn't for me. I wanted to prove to myself that you could still achieve something meaningful without following the traditional route, as long as you were willing to put in the work and stay obsessed with what you were doing.

I also never really wanted a 9-to-5 job. I wanted to build things of my own and be responsible for what I do. Even if that meant working twice as much, making less money for a while, or having to figure everything out myself, I'd rather do that than have someone else tell me what to do.

So I started learning.

I had a laptop and a lot of things I didn't know. I taught myself how to code, started building small projects, broke things, fixed them, and kept going. Eventually I learned enough to build full products instead of just parts of them.

I also tried freelancing. I made profiles, sent cold emails, looked for clients and tried pretty much everything I could think of to get that first opportunity.

There wasn't much luck.

I didn't have clients coming in or anyone waiting to give me a chance. But by then, I had gotten used to learning and building on my own, so I just kept doing that.

That's eventually what led to Faymas.

The idea for Faymas came from looking at how quickly the AI industry was growing and how much people were starting to use AI in their everyday lives.

We noticed that there were already an almost endless number of AI prompts online. But if you were looking for one specific prompt, finding it could be surprisingly difficult. You might have to go through websites, YouTube videos, social media, communities and random posts for hours just to find something that might do what you wanted. And even then, there was no guarantee the prompt would actually give you the result you were looking for.

At the same time, the people creating these prompts were often not getting much recognition for the work they were putting out.

So we thought there should be a place that solves both problems.

That's what Faymas is trying to be.

Instead of just showing you a piece of text and asking you to figure out what it does, Faymas puts the prompt alongside the image or video it created. You can open the app, browse through the feed, find something you like, and copy, save or like it.

For creators, it's a place to share their work, get discovered and build recognition around what they create. We also built a monetization system that lets creators earn rewards from their work.

So in a way, Faymas is a social platform built around AI prompts. People come to discover and use things, while creators come to share what they've made and get something back for it.

As the CTO, I work on pretty much all of it. I write the code, build the systems behind the product, manage the infrastructure, work on the creator and monetization systems, and make a lot of the product decisions.

Most of my work is with Next.js, React and TypeScript on the frontend, and Node.js, Prisma and PostgreSQL on the backend.

When I'm not working, I usually read. It can be anything from technology to fantasy.

I watch anime and films, and I usually have some idea I'm thinking about building. Sometimes it's a small thing, sometimes it turns into something much bigger than I expected.
